Most antiperspirants stop sweat using aluminium salts, applied daily to the thin, absorbent skin of the underarm. France's ANSM advised limiting aluminium in cosmetics (2011), and several conventional brands faced benzene-contamination recalls. A certified-organic deodorant neutralises odour without aluminium salts.
